Case study · Websites & E-commerce
A custom wholesale e-commerce platform for a South African apparel manufacturer, connected live to the systems that run the business.
The problem
Vic Bay sells to resellers across South Africa through regional branches, each running its own inventory and pricing inside the company's ERP, the system that runs the business. An off-the-shelf webshop could not represent any of that: reseller-specific pricing tiers, live stock, branch-specific delivery options, and orders that land directly in the branch's own system.
What we built
A custom storefront, built from scratch, that treats the ERP as the single source of truth. Products, images, pricing, and stock come straight from the live business system. Each approved reseller logs in and sees their own negotiated pricing tier. Orders placed on the site are created directly in the ERP as real sales orders, with delivery methods, customer references, and uploaded purchase order documents attached.
- Live product catalogue and pricing from the ERP, per reseller tier
- Bulk ordering built for wholesale buyers, sized per variant
- Card payment through Paystack, verified server-side, with paid invoices posted automatically into the accounting system
- EFT, account, and collection payment flows for trade customers
- Abandoned cart tracking feeding the CRM's own recovery automation
- A multi-region architecture: one codebase serving resellers in the Eastern Cape, Free State, Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, North West, Northern Cape, Western Cape, and Namibia
Why it matters
Most agencies stop at the website. This build goes to the part that actually runs a business: the order in the system, the invoice in accounting, the stock level a rep can trust. It is the difference between a brochure and a working sales channel, and it is the standard we bring to e-commerce work.
